Grape seed oil
Grape seed oil (Vitis vinifera seed oil) also is pressed from the seeds of grapes. It is very light, odorless and absorb very quickly in the skin. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, linoleic and other essential fatty acids which helps strengthen tissue cells and help preserve natural moisture in the skin.
It is a good slightly astringent, penetrating oil for massage and aromatherapy uses.
It is very beneficial to dry or aging skin.
and has mild astringent and antiseptic properties and is one of my favorite ingredients to blend facial massage oils.
Grape seed oil is high in procyanidolic oligomers; the same antioxidants found in berries, green and black teas, red wine.
Their antioxidant capabilities are much more potent than vitamin C and 50 vitamin E. These antioxidants work directly to help strengthen the blood vessels and improve the delivery of oxygen to the cells. Proanthocyanidins also have an affinity for cell membranes, providing nutritional support to reduce capillary fragility.
The antioxidants in grapeseed oil are vital to the health and youthfulness of the skin as they help protect against the effects of internal and environmental stresses. The skin can actually absorb the nutrients in grapeseed oil that will fight free radicals and restrain the enzymes that degrade collagen,
Grape seed oil is also used as a lubricant for shaving. Personally, I use it for it a light blend of Lemon and Lime essential oils a very invigorating scent to start the day.
